The learner workbook supporting materials and training resources have been developed in collaboration with the PHE South West NHS Health Check network group.
"We are a group of local authority NHS Health Check commissioners who meet with our local PHE Lead Rosanne Sodzi on a regular basis to share examples of best practice and to offer each other peer support.
Many of us have included 'the completion of the NHS Health Check Competency Workbook' in our existing provider contracts and as a result have been asked to support providers in developing a local resource. The resource is aimed at health and social care staff who deliver health checks either within their GP Surgeries or Community Settings, and is arranged in a structured way that aligns training materials and example documents against the competency standards.
This is an evolving resource and we aim to continuously improve the format, content and presentation collectively.
The working group consists of a diverse blend of commissioners and providers and we hope that this webpage can be used as a tool to assist you in completing the competency workbook and in supporting assessors who are required to sign colleagues off as being competent"
Amanda Chappell, Commissioning Manager for NHS Health Checks, Bristol City Council
