Draft Quality Assurance Standards Consulation Opens

We are pleased to share with you our draft National Quality Assurance (QA) Standard which have been developed by the QA working group. This group was comprised of local authority commissioners, Directors of Public Health, PHE, laboratory leads and clinicians.

These Quality Assurance standards have been written for local commissioners; in order to support you in assuring yourselves of the quality and safety of the service(s) you commission and help facilitate quality improvement. Whilst acknowledging the need for local flexibility and innovation, the standards focus on points within the NHS Health Check pathway where reducing variation and delivering a consistent service is particularly important both in terms of ensuring the quality and safety of the programme and to maximise its public health impact. We are sharing this document with LA Commissioners and a range of stakeholders.

We would really value your feedback on the draft standards so that we can take on board your thoughts and consider how we can develop this work further in the future.

Any feedback regarding this document should be sent by email to  sarah.stevens@phe.gov.uk by Friday 17 January 2014.
