Workplace Competences Framework

The new NHS Health Check workforce competences framework has been released as a draft document for consultation. The opportunity to give feedback into the consultation ends at 17:00 on 28 May.  The previous framework was developed by Skills for Health (the Sector Skills Council for health workers) and has provided valuable support for the NHS Health Check programme.  However, it became outdated with the changes to the health and social care environment in April 2013 and the evolution of the NHS Health Check programme.

The new framework has been developed by a working group made up of commissioners, clinicians and education specialists from around England. We are grateful to Skills for Health for its continued engagement and to NHS England for its support in this phase of development. The new framework follows the flow of the NHS Health Check and includes hyperlinks to National Occupational Standards and other e-based learning/informationresources.  This ensures that users are always accessing latest versions of the material, and reduces the environmental impact of having to print off many copies of the framework.

If you want to be involved in the consultation but have not yet received an invitation please e-mail  craig.lister@phe.gov.uk for a copy of the consultation paper.
