The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) will be issuing a call for research into the evaluation of interventions or services for the prevention and treatment of obesity in adults and children.  See the announcement here.

Please note that any applications your team wishes to make in response to this call will require approval through the PHE Opportunity Assessment Group (OAG) process before submission to NIHR.  Projects submitted to OAG follow a set pathway as described within the PHE Business Development Handbook.  Chapter 6 is most relevant http://phenet.phe.gov.uk/Policies-and-Procedures/Pages/Business-development-chapter-6-OAG-Guidance-notes-for-completing-project-enquiry-and-project-proposal-forms.aspx

An OAG meeting is held every Tuesday, with deadlines for paperwork noon on the Friday morning before.

If your team is interested in responding to this call please contact Sam Newell, Jamie Methuen or Beckie Davies in the first instance as they can offer support through the OAG process
